OKC Thunder Goal No.3: Maledon needs to improve from the Free Throw line
A major part of any point guards’ game is getting to the line. Let us look at some statistics between Maledon getting to the line and other OKC Thunder players.

- Should the OKC Thunder chase after a disgruntled hometown hero?
- 3 OKC Thunder players who can step up in Aleksej Pokusevski’s absence
- Aleksej Pokusevski sidelined approximately 6 weeks with ankle injury
- Damian Lillard does not fit with the OKC Thunder
According to basketball-reference.com, SGA got to the foul line 6.5 times and shot around 80 percent. In comparison, Maledon shot 75 percent on two attempts from the foul line, per basketball-reference.com.
If Theo only plans on drawing fouls two times per game, the least he can do is make all of his attempts. If the young French product plans to become a key cog in this system moving forward, he needs to get to the foul line more often.
In Closing
Maledon had a fantastic first season with the OKC Thunder, and there are just a few minor tweaks to his game that need adjusting.
Other than that, I believe Maledon is poised to have a breakout sophomore season. As long as he can work on finishing at the rim and being more assertive getting to the foul line, I think Maledon has all the makings to be a future Thunder star.
