OKC Thunder Goal No. 3: Continue to be comfortable handling the ball

A couple of times, Williams drew the start at the point guard position this season, and something worth mentioning is that his ball-handling could use a touch of work, but not much!

This is imperative because of what I mentioned in the previous slide if Williams is getting deflections in the passing lanes and out-hustling everyone, then likely he will out on the break by himself. He must find the ability to take the ball to the rack without relying on a trailer.

Let’s take a look at an instance where Williams does it all by himself.

More from Thunderous Intentions

This sequence is a perfect example of how ball-handling will benefit Williams in the long run. Although he looks slightly uncomfortable, he can still turn defense into offense in a very productive way.

Look for ‘Kenny Hustle’ to make massive strides in his next season with the OKC Thunder.

In Closing

There is not a lot to break down when it comes to weaknesses in the Kenrich Williams game. He is tenacious, scrappy, and persistent. His play always brings value to any unit on the floor, and his type of play is extremely impactful, whether it is the first quarter or crunch time in the fourth quarter.

Either way, Kenrich Williams is a true “Sam Presti Player.” The intangibles that he brings to the court are indispensable.

I believe Williams’s ceiling could be Tony Allen, and at the very least, he has the floor of a more skilled Andre Roberson.
