OKC Thunder: Grades for Darius Bazley’s breakout season
OKC Thunder season highlights for Darius Bazley.
Bazley started the season out incredibly well. He had four double-doubles in the first twenty games. He would end the season with 11 double-doubles which was good for one every five games that he played on the season.
He would finish with 14 games where he collected ten or more rebounds. He had a career-high 16 rebounds in a double-double where he also had 21 points. Unfortunately, the Thunder would go on to lose that game by seven points against the Los Angeles Lakers.
Before Bazely got injured he had a run of eight games where he scored in double figures. The best thing about these games was that the Thunder won three of them. However, a few games after he returned from injury, Bazley went on a tear where he had 16 games where he scored double figures or more which is really good for a second-year player.
Bazley also started to show some more growth on defense. He had four games where he had two or more steals. He had a game where he stole the ball five times in a game against the Washington Wizards.
All of these highlights show that Bazley’s ceiling is yet to be discovered. He will continue to develop as the team continues to be built around him and several other younger players on the roster.
