NBA player comparison No. 2) Shai Gilgeous-Alexander

Frankly, I’m shocked that I have yet to see a Jalen Green comparison to OKC Thunder star guard, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

Now, I know that the former is more known for his explosive motor and athletic finishes in the paint while the latter is more known for his craftiness, but there are quite a few similarities that make me believe that, of all other potential suitors for Green’s NBA star comparison, SGA deserves his spot on this list at No. 2.

Both listed at 6-5, 180-pounds, like our stance with LaVine, the two talents possess the ideal frames for a modern-day two-guard.

On the offensive side of the ball, Gilgeous-Alexander may not have the top-flight bounce that Green does, but he does share the same soft touch around the rim when driving the lane and finishing with his acrobatic layup packages.

They also have the same abilities to grab the ball at the top of the arc, break down a defense with their keep-away dribbles, and knife their way through the lane.

Not all that fast with their handles, both Green and Gilgeous-Alexander like to use physical contact with their bodies to bump players when in possession of the ball, and use their surprising strength to keep control as they move and look for a score.

Not the willing distributor that the OKC Thunder star is, but a better defensive prospect than Gilgeous-Alexander (who, unlike LaVine, is known as a decent defender himself), an interchangeable tandem of SGA and Jalen Green in the lineup at the wing could prove to be of great benefit for Oklahoma City to have right from day one should they nab him this upcoming draft.
