OKC Thunder target No. 1) Collin Sexton

Since entering the league, Collin Sexton has proven to be quite a troublesome scorer and has managed to up his numbers in virtually every statistical category as time has gone by.

This past season, in 60 games played with the Cavaliers, the point guard posted 24.3 points, 4.4 assists, 3.1 rebounds, and a steal per game on 48 percent shooting from the floor and 37 percent shooting from deep.

Despite this stellar level of play in year three, however, rumors have begun to circulate that suggest that due to Cleveland’s financial restraints (Jarrett Allen extension looming, Kevin Love’s atrocious contract, etc.) they may not be able to afford to keep the youngster for much longer and, instead, could look to deal him for cheaper assets that help their salary flexibility longterm.

With this in mind, what asset is cheaper than future draft capital?

With the overstock the OKC Thunder have at their disposal, packaging a few ‘down the road’ selections together in a deal could prove to be rather simple and, if it meant getting a super-talented 22-year-old guard in the process, they should strongly consider such a pursuit.

Not only would his arrival land them a new starting point guard, which is the position some say must be addressed, but it would also give star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander another shot creator within the lineup which, as fans saw throughout this past season, is a luxury this team sorely lacks.

Should a guy like Collin Sexton become available, Presti and co. should be very interested in striking up trade conversations.
