OKC Thunder player No. 3) Shai Gilgeous-Alexander

Not all impacts from the Kemba Walker trade have to be negative as made evident by our stance on Isaiah Roby, and here we see a positive effect from the transaction with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

Coming off of his best year in the league, posting stellar averages of 23.7 points, 5.9 assists, 4.7 rebounds, and just shy of both a steal and a block per game on 51 percent shooting from the floor and 42 percent shooting from deep, the third-year combo guard proved capable of serving as top-dog for an organization and, in turn, has OKC Thunder fans excited about what’s next to come.

However, while his level of play was clearly top-notch, his supporting cast was noticeably lacking in overall skill, especially on the offensive side of the ball.

Once SGA went down for the year for after sustaining a tear in his plantar fascia, the scoring punch was putrid for OKC, as no one on the roster created even 60 percent or more of their own attempts.

This statistic led many to believe that one of the biggest priorities for the Thunder this offseason should be to bring on some shot creators to surround their 22-year-old budding star with.

Kemba Walker could be exactly what they need in this regard.

Despite having perhaps his most disappointing season as a pro, the 4x All-Star still managed to produce rather impressive numbers of 19.3 points, 4.9 assists, four boards, and 1.1 steals on 36 percent shooting from deep.

On top of this, Walker has made a name for himself over the years as being a killer isolation scoring option in the backcourt and even went about and converted on 72.7 percent of his unassisted 2-point field goal attempts this past year.

His arrival could certainly help alleviate the offensive burden on Gilgeous-Alexander’s shoulders while also softening the defensive assignments being tossed his way.
