The OKC Thunder have all the assets in the world for the future of this rebuild.

Any time they call, other general managers should certainly be interested in what they have to say. Sam Presti has already made a rare trade during the playoffs, sending Al Horford and a future second-round pick to the Boston Celtics.

In return, they received Kemba Walker and the 16th pick in this year’s draft.

This is one of the rare trades in the NBA which works out well for both teams. The Cs get their two-way big man who will help them win. The Thunder get another mentor for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and another first-round pick.

However, what if the Thunder were able to flip Walker to the Philadelphia 76ers?

Clearly, after the comments made by Doc Rivers and Joel Embiid, they are willing to throw Ben Simmons under the bus for their playoff exit. He needs to do a Markelle Fultz and get out of Philadelphia.

What an OKC Thunder trade for Ben Simmons might look like

As mentioned earlier, the Thunder have assets to burn should they need to. However, this trade may potentially be made with a minimum of moving parts. The 76ers need a point guard who can run their offense who can also make free throws down the stretch. Let’s look at how it may look.

The 76ers receive Walker and, to sweeten the deal, Presti might throw in the Thunder’s own 2021 second-round pick. The Thunder receive Ben Simmons who could be the second straight 76ers star blamed for a playoff exit to come to the Thunder, with Horford being the first.
