In what was effectively his rookie season, Roby had the rookie-level of consistency. He had some very good games which he followed up with some less than impressive games. Part of this was that he did not have a consistent level of playing time at the start of the season.
Roby exploded into the 2020-21 season with 19 points and seven rebounds in 28 minutes of playing time. He looked like a seasoned veteran in this game. The problem was that he did not get back into double figures in scoring again until his sixth game of the season. He only played four minutes in his fifth game of the season.
He would then have six games out of eight where he scored double digits, collecting a double-double in one of these games. He would then have three straight games where he barely scored, where he could not get into the flow of the game.
As the season went on, Roby would mostly eliminate the stretch of games where he was not impactful. He still had those games as you expect from a player in his first full season. He has the potential and ability to impact games on so many levels and this season we should see a more consistent Isaiah Roby.
