The NBA Finals are set with the Phoenix Suns and Milwaukee Bucks representing the West and East respectively. While our OKC Thunder wasn’t a playoff participant there was genuine joy witnessing Chris Paul deliver perhaps his most impressive postseason performance of his career.

It marks the first time in the Point God’s 16-year career he will have an opportunity to play in an NBA Finals. The emotion he felt in the moment was clear for all to witness and made some of us (raises hand) well up in the moment.

Game 1 occurs on Tuesday, July 6th meaning the Suns have the rest advantage having last played on June 30th, while the Bucks will be fresher having played on Saturday.

In the final game for the Suns, there was a moment on the court that brought back memories of ‘the OKC Thunder dancing duo’ as Cameron Payne and  Mikal Bridges were caught in a dance celebration (6:16 of video).

That got Intentions thinking about the numerous former OKC Thunder guards who’ve played a crucial role for their squads this postseason. I’m not sure any other franchise has as many former guards who’ve been key cogs for their teams which in most cases speaks to the development system of the Thunder.

With that in mind, Intentions decided to highlight those seven individuals and rank them in order of their contributions and effect on their club’s success.
