Ranking 7 former OKC Thunder point guards 2021 playoff performances
Former OKC Thunder PG, 2021 playoff performance: No. 2 – Reggie Jackson
At one time at Intentions, just the mere mention of Reggie Jackson would elicit a deluge of negative comments. After all, he created a ton of conflict on the squad implying he should start over Russell Westbrook.
Yet, Jackson has spent years in the association and it’s clear that time has allowed him to mature. If not for his consistent efforts for the Clippers it’s unlikely the Western Conference Finals would’ve lasted six games. In fact, he was debatably the more consistent Clippers player this postseason and that will likely net him a nice contract this offseason.
Paul George doesn’t land on this list because he’s not a point guard but if this list had included all guards and wings I’d argue Jackson’s placement ahead on PG13 because of his consistency.
Jackson played in all 19 playoff games averaging 17.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 0.9 steals shooting 40.8 percent from deep in 32.7 minutes.
Once Leonard couldn’t play, Jackson garnered more defensive attention but in those eight games he increased all his key category contributions. Specifically, he averaged 21.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, 4.4 assists, and 1.6 steals.
Sure, Paul George produced more but he was expected to and when you consider Jackson’s salary ($1.62 million) his contributions are all the more impressive.
