Strengths:
Versatility is the key phrase to describe the Villanova forward who uses an arsenal of moves to score. He is a capable driver that can score with either hand in close.
Also adept in the mid-range scoring efficient and occasionally shooting effective fade aways. Solid rebounder with success on both the offensive and defensive glass.
Similarly, he is versatile on the defensive end of the floor with the size and capacity to guard big men inside or use his athleticism and solid lateral slides to stop speedy guards, and quick enough to get out to the perimeter to defend.
Weaknesses:
Although he demonstrates great footwork in the paint and is one of the better lateral moving defenders in the class he needs to capitalize on those qualities more in his mid-range game.
More from Thunderous Intentions
- Stealing one player from every Southwest Division team for the OKC Thunder
- Should the OKC Thunder chase after a disgruntled hometown hero?
- 3 OKC Thunder players who can step up in Aleksej Pokusevski’s absence
- Aleksej Pokusevski sidelined approximately 6 weeks with ankle injury
- Damian Lillard does not fit with the OKC Thunder
Regressed in his two seasons shooting from the perimeter. Oddly his mechanics and release point seem fine so the coaches will need to dissect why his shooting mechanics aren’t resulting in success or allowing him to extend his range. If he wants to have a bigger role in the pros he’ll need to emphasize fixing those issues.
Confidence (likely due to the above issues) isn’t high and that leads to streaky shooting.
Pro Comparison:
Analysts compare Jeremiah Robinson-Earl. to Chuma Okeke, Grant Williams, Donyell Marshall, and Jonas Jerebko.
OKC Thunder fit:
Not a player that is likely to elicit OKC Thunder VP, Sam Presti to say his name on July 29th. Notably, his ceiling is to develop into a solid role player but for the Thunder, he doesn’t seem likely to get the tap.
Considering how many draft picks the Thunder has in hand the players who the team can select with picks in the ’30s are either high-risk | high-reward prospects or ones who fill a specific need and JRE does neither.
