Pro Comparison:

Analysts offer Jerami Grant, Kelly Oubre, and Matt Barnes as NBA player comparisons for Greg for Brown.

With that trio pegged it’s understandable why so many experts believe in Brown’s ceiling. Grant and Oubre are (Barnes was) solid two-way players who affect the play on both sides of the floor and are explosive athletes.

More from Thunderous Intentions

Brown isn’t the youngest prospect (he’ll turn 20 in September) in this draft class, but he’s a youngster who needs more fine-tuning and time to develop. The raw potential is obvious but considering the turnovers, fouls, and underdeveloped aspects of his game, time spent in the G-League and in the lab will greatly impact his growth.

Given those factors, the OKC Thunder could afford to take a shot on the youngster particularly because he projects to become a solid two-way player with the invested development time.

The question is whether he’ll be on the board when the OKC Thunder select. He would need to still be available when OKC selects 32nd or 36th. Or, the other option is if Sam Presti ends up completing a draft-night trade resulting in pick swaps.

That’s the only way I think Brown lands in OKC and if he does he’d be another high-risk | high -reward project.
