Opening ceremonies for the Toyko Olympics took place this afternoon launching the globe’s biggest sporting event. Every four years the Summer Olympics occur and over the years several OKC Thunder players have been among those who participated and brought home the Gold.

This summer only one current member of the team roster will be involved — Gabriel Deck. The Thunder forward who appeared in 10 games for the club last season will represent his native Argentina.

Five former OKC Thunder players will also be participating. Kevin Durant will lead Team USA and is joined by Jerami Grant. The duo never played together in OKC as Durant left the year Grant joined the Thunder.

The other three former OKC Thunder stars in action are Danilo Gallinari, Alex Abrines, and Timothe Luwawu Kongbo (Cabarrot) playing for Italy, Spain, and France respectively.
