OKC Thunder: Team set to allow fans in 2021-22 to renamed arena

The OKC Thunder are set to welcome back fans in the 2021-22 NBA Season, with a new look arena name. After fans were kept out all of last season, there is a ton to look forward to during the upcoming home slate.

The OKC Thunder rename arena, announce fans return

After filing for bankruptcy a year ago, the naming rights deal between the Thunder’s downtown Oklahoma City arena and the energy company came to a close when the company terminated its naming rights deal in April. This ended a 12-year partnership that was inked in 2011.

Now, the OKC Thunder has announced a partnership with the local-based Paycom company. The pact is set to last 15-years starting in the 2021-22 NBA season. In Arena signage is already on display, including the green Paycom logo on multiple parts of the teams’ home court.

The jumbotron also has a new bright green look. The outside marketing renders to look much of the same, a surprisingly cool blend of neon green and Thunder blue. Chesapeake’s agreement with the team starter at 3-million dollars and increased three percent each year. It is unclear what the starting figure is for Paycom’s agreement with the OKC Thunder.

The biggest news to come from this is the official announcement that fans will return to the now Paycom Center in the 2021-22 season. After missing the 72-game stretch a year ago, fans missed out on multiple experiences. Such as welcoming back fan-favorite Steven Adams, who is now on his second team since his OKC departure.
