Chicago Bulls

2021 Free Agents:

  • Ryan Arcidiacono (team option)
  • Devon Dotson
  • Cristiano Felicio
  • Javonte Green (restricted)
  • Lauri Markkanen (restricted)
  • Adam Mokoka
  • Garrett Temple
  • Daniel Theis
  • Denzel Valentine

2021 Draft Picks:

  • Guard, Ayo Dosunmu (38th)

Chicago invested in Zach LaVine and Nikola Vucevic so there will be an increased emphasis on making the postseason after missing out the past four years. The problem for the Bulls is they have a gaping hole at the point, are over the cap, and with Coby White suffering a torn labrum it compounds this issue.

Considering the Bulls’ salary cap situation they need to prioritize filling the starting point guard role and that makes retaining Lauri Markkanen a difficult proposition for Chicago.

Those salary woes could end up paying dividends for a savvy team with the ability to swoop in and make an offer for restricted free agent Lauri Markannen that Chicago would be hard-pressed to match. I’m not as high on Markkanen as I am on John Collins but he’s another big Sam Presti needs to have a cup of java with as he fits the OKC Thunder timeline and maybe could benefit from playing in a new location.
