As the NBA turns their attention to Los Vegas and the Summer League fans will get an opportunity to watch the newest members of each franchise. For the OKC Thunder, that group includes a rash of rookies and some youngsters on the club.

At the top of that list is the surprise sixth pick Josh Giddey along with fellow rookie additions Tre Mann, Jeremiah Robinson-Earl, and Aaron Wiggins. Theo Maledon will get his first taste of Summer League as will other Thunder sophomores.

Rylan Stiles outlined the roster who’ll represent the OKC Thunder in Vegas. The big disappointment is fans won’t get to see POKU dicing up the Thomas and Mack court as he’s on a strict summer regime in preparation for next season.

While we’re eager to see the newest members of the OKC Thunder, this event offers plenty of action to feast on. Of course, the top draft picks will all be on hand serving up notice of who’ll get the early edge on Rookie of the Year.

Undrafted free agents OKC Thunder should track at NBA Summer League

It’s also a great time to get an idea of undrafted talent. Strong performances could lead to prospects signing two-way deals, invitations to join G-League squads, and on the rare occasion a varsity contract. Given the depth of this draft class that should equate to a larger than usual talent base to draw from.

In recent years, the Raptors found Fred VanVleet and Terence Davis and the 76ers nabbed Christian Wood following their Vegas performances. Although the Thunder have a larger than usual percentage of rookies on their roster Sam Presti will be keeping an eye out for potential diamonds in the rough or high-risk-reward players the club could develop with the OKC Blue.
