The OKC Thunder have now filled both two-way roster spots. After they extended a two-way deal to the 55th overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, Aaron Wiggins, the team has issued Josh Hall his second consecutive two-way pact.

The Oklahoma City Thunder signed Josh Hall during the 2020 NBA offseason after Hall elected to skip college and went undrafted out of Moravian Prep. The Durham, North Carolina native logged just one game with the OKC Blue a season ago, while earning minutes in 21 NBA contests last year.

The Oklahoma City Thunder enter the 2021-22 NBA season with a similar mindset they had for the 2020-21 season. Development, development, development. With no aging veterans clogging up the roster for the first half of the season such as George Hill and Al Horford, the path to minutes for young players gets even easier.

Hall is a hyper athlete, at 20 years old he stands 6’9 nearly 200 pounds. An explosive athlete that has the handles to create for himself on drives. He dealt with injuries a year ago that robbed him of the G-League bubble which was so beneficial for Aleksej Pokusevski.

More from Thunderous Intentions

With the knee issue hopefully behind him, the second-year two-way player will have a full G-League season, a full-NBA season, and a season full of practices to improve his game and impress decision-makers.

Given last year’s compact schedule the team rarely had time to practice under first-year coach Mark Daigneault. Most off days were spent traveling or recuperating from the game played the night before.

Hall’s athleticism and ability to get to the rim are the selling point for his game. His focus this offseason and for his future development has to be on adding a jump shot to his arsenal. Not only is a jumper almost a prerequisite in the modern NBA, but forcing defenses to respect his shooting ability only helps his driving capabilities.

The Thunder are on a hot streak when it comes to converting two-way contracts into NBA deals. Between Aaron Wiggins and Josh Hall, that streak will continue this year. Bet your house on it.
