Every year the NBA Draft comes around, I make sure to clear my schedule, call into work, and have my face in front of the television at precisely 7 p.m. CT. This year was no different as I decided to watch the draft inside the Paycom Center, home of the OKC Thunder.

On July 30, 2021, I and many other fans gathered inside a bar at the Paycom Center to await the results of the OKC Thunder’s sixth pick in the 2021 draft. OKC acquired its highest lottery pick this year since 2009 when the Thunder drafted James Harden with the third overall selection.

Naturally, there was anticipation to see what OKC would do this time around with a relatively high draft pick.

As Adam Silver announced, “with the sixth pick, the Oklahoma City Thunder select… Josh Giddey from the Adelaide 36ers,” fans seemed perplexed at the decision to choose this young 18-year-old out of the NBL league in Australia.

That said, I believe many prospects would have been viable for this young OKC Thunder squad.

T.I. will take a look at three available selections that were attainable for the Thunder on draft night.
