OKC Thunder miss the playoffs, with a few surprises thrown in
The NBA postseason is not the expectation for the Oklahoma City Thunder, so missing out on late April basketball is no big deal. However, for a team like the Miami Heat, who missed the playoffs including the play-in tournament in this simulation, it would be a disaster.
NBA Play-in tournament:
Western Conference: Dallas vs Golden state, Memphis vs Suns. The Mavericks and Warriors survive, entering the big dance.
Eastern Conference: 76ers vs Wizards, and Hawks vs Magic, the 76ers and Wizards put on their dancing shoes.
NBA First round:
Jazz over the eighth-seeded Warriors in six, Clippers over the fifth-seeded Pelicans in seven games, Blazers knock off the sixth-seeded Nuggets in six, and the Lakers make quick work of the Dallas Mavericks sweeping the Mavs in round one.
The 76ers upset the top-seeded Bucks in four games, the Bulls knock off the fourth-seeded Nets in six, the Celtics dumped the Pacers in five, and the Knicks top the Wizards in seven.
NBA Second round:
The Clippers knock off the top-seeded Jazz in seven games, the Lakers dispatch the Blazers in seven games setting up a Western Conference Finals years in the making.
In the Eastern Conference, the Bulls go down to the 8th seed as the 76ers continue their miracle run in six games, the Celtics outlasted the Knicks in seven.
Conference Finals:
The Lakers defeated the Clippers in six games giving LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Thunder legends Russell Westbrook and Carmelo Anthony a shot at a ring.
In the Eastern Conference, the 76ers, as an eighth seed advance to the NBA Finals with a huge series win over the Boston Celtics in seven games.
The NBA Finals: The Lakers sweep the 76ers and end one of the best underdog stories in NBA history with LeBron James winning another Finals MVP.
