NBA 2K Simulation: OKC Thunder win draft lottery, finish worst in west

OKC Thunder finally get the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow

Finally, the event that this NBA season is all about for Oklahoma City Thunder fans, the NBA Draft Lottery and Draft are here! The OKC Thunder, Cleveland Cavilers, and Toronto Raptors all entered the night with a 14-percent chance at a top overall pick.

The Cleveland Cavilers fell to the fifth pick, while the Toronto Raptors stumbled to the sixth overall pick. Sam Presti was left dancing in his office as the Thunder finish Lottery night with the top overall pick.

The top three teams in the 2022 NBA Draft according to the NBA 2K simulation: Oklahoma City Thunder, Houston Rockets, and Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Thunder also come away with the first, 13th (via the Suns), and 27th (via the Clippers) overall selections in the first round.

I imported the proper draft classes and elected to auto-draft the event and the Thunder walked away with the 6’10 power forward Paolo Banchero who ended up being a 79 overall which was tied with Chet Holmgren as the top-rated rookie in the class.

With the 13th overall pick, Sam Presti selected Nikola Jovic, a 6’10 power forward with a 77-overall rating. Wrapping up the draft, the OKC Thunder went with Kennedy Chandler, a 6’1 point guard from the University of Tennessee who rated out as a 73-overall.
