As my morning coffee brewed at 6 a.m. this morning, I smiled, not just because I could smell the incredible aroma of the Starbucks Carmel Medium Roast K-Cup I was making but because today marks the start of OKC Thunder training camp!

The boys are back in town, as the Oklahoma City Thunder brings 20-players to Bricktown to begin NBA Training camp. Six practices before the first of four preseason games. The team will likely shuffle in a few players on the training camp group to retain their G-League rights, so we are fully in the thick of the NBA news cycle again.

I understand why maybe you as a fan are not as giddy about training camp, the media day portion of the preseason is a fun event that gives fans a ton of content to sift through, training camp could feel like another lull in the NBA calendar before we get to see the team in action.

As Mark Daigneault has media availabilities throughout training camp what are some storylines to follow along with? This can help you enjoy camp coverage even more, and there is no shortage of fun angles to take this training camp period for the OKC Thunder.

Training camp key dates:

The first NBA regular-season game tips off on October 19th as the Nets travel to take on the Bucks, and the Warriors travel to take on Russell Westbrook’s Lakers (oh yeah, and LeBron James‘ Lakers) the OKC Thunder open up their season the next day in Utah, and this 20-man roster will be trimmed down to 17, including the two-way players.
