Late Round 1/Early Round 2: Bradley Beal and Jayson Tatum

Snelling nails the obvious here which is Beal is one of the players who hasn’t yet been vaccinated which would make me wary of putting him ahead of perennial top performers. He gets the nod more out of the necessity for him to do so much for his Wizards and his lethal scoring prowess. Yet, personally, I’d lean more into Tatum.

Each year the Celtics forward has demonstrated growth and at 24, enters his fifth season as the undisputed number one scoring option for his club. He’s ready to take another leap and looks to have spent ample time in the lab and weight room this offseason.  In fact, it wouldn’t shock for him to come close to an average of 30 points, just under 10 rebounds, five assists, and improve his 3-point efficiency this season.

In addition, Jaylen Brown is currently out having tested positive for COVID. While coach Udoka said he expects Brown to start the season that doesn’t mean he’ll be at full speed. Many players who suffered from contracting the virus took months to get back to where they were prior to having COVID.
