The OKC Thunder continue their 2021-22 regular season campaign in Golden State with game six of the season against the Warriors. Of course, game six and Warriors in the same sentence have a uniquely bad meaning in Bricktown, but let’s hope this does not go as disastrous as that night.
The Thunder are coming off the first win of their season, coming back from 26 points down to beat the L.A. Lakers and Russell Westbrook. Both teams ended their last game with fireworks as the Warriors fell in overtime to the spunky Memphis Grizzlies and the Oklahoma City Thunder youngsters started beef with the founding father after the comeback win.
The OKC Thunder without four against the Golden State Warriors
As the NBA season turns, the NBA G-League season is about to get underway. The OKC Blue is currently scrimmaging at the Paycom Center and will begin playing games against other opponents on November 5th against the Salt Lake City Stars.
Mark Daigneault, Sam Presti, and the other OKC Thunder decision-makers have sent down Tre Mann, Aaron Wiggins, Paul Watson Jr, and Vit Krejci to the team’s G-League affiliate Blue. All four will miss tonight’s game against the Warriors. Paul Watson Jr and Aaron Wiggins head down as part of their two-way deals. Vit Krejci simply needs reps and consistent minutes as he recovers from a torn ACL suffered barely over a year ago.
On Friday afternoon, the Thunder sent their 18th overall pick Tre Mann to the OKC Blue. Mann has averaged ten minutes per game in the NBA and prior to the game on Wednesday against the Lakers, Mark Daigneault pointed out the defensive improvements the young guard needs to make. He will be tasked with improving his defense with the Blue, as well as the lead ball-handler responsibility which will surely produce highlights.
The Golden State Warriors are without Klay Thompson, Jonathan Kuminga, James Wiseman, and Jeff Dowtin. The team also lists Damion Lee and Juan Toscano-Anderson as questionable.
