The OKC Thunder march on with their rebuild plans, hoping to return to title contention as quickly as possible. Oklahoma City Thunder general manager Sam Presti has made it known, the Thunder will not be taking any shortcuts. This translates to the Thunder building through the NBA Draft.

The NBA Draft does not just feature College and International products, but also NBA G-Leauge players such as Jade Hardy. However, the most consumable draft prep during this portion of the year is college hoops. So, every week we will preview what is ahead in the College Basketball world, top matchups to follow along with, and everything else that leaps off the page as it relates to NBA Draft prospects.

OKC Thunder turns attention to the draft, week one college basketball preview

Myself, Oklahoma City Thunder scouts, and front office brass will be consuming countless hours of college hoops over the next few months leading into the 2022 NBA Draft. As the OKC Thunder hope for a top pick in this year’s NBA Draft Class to pair with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Josh Giddey, and the rest of the young OKC Thunder core, who should fans pay attention to?

Week by week, I’ll go over the top matchup and prospects to watch for, and as games begin this week, next week I will review how each prospect is doing in the young season. Year-round draft coverage is where the organization is at, so follow along and let’s see what we can figure out before draft night.

The College Basketball season gets underway with the Championship Classic on November 9th in Madison Square Garden. This annual event features Kansas, Duke, Kentucky, and Michigan State as the four programs rotate opponents each year to begin the season.
