The OKC Thunder are turning the page to December, and to kick off the winter months, they have a pair of players on the shelf with the flu against the Houston Rockets. The Oklahoma City Thunder return home tonight to take on the Houston Rockets in the Paycom Center in downtown Oklahoma City and will do so short-handed.
The OKC Thunder are looking to snap a long losing streak or winning streak if you are one of the fans that decide to view this season through the eyes of the reverse standings. Like many in Oklahoma right now, I am battling a shift in weather every day as is typical in this great state of ours. That can lead to the sniffles, that I am fighting with now, or the full-blown flu and/or cold. Josh Giddey and Derrick Favors are each sidelined tonight with the flu according to Mark Daigneault.
The Oklahoma City Thunder bench boss also announced that Giddey and Favors would be out tomorrow, the second night of a back-to-back against the Memphis Grizzlies. Kenrich Williams is also trending toward not playing in the second leg of a back-to-back.
OKC Thunder without Josh Giddey, Derrick Favors, others
The Oklahoma City Thunder in addition to being without Derrick Favors and Josh Giddey will also miss out on Kenrich Williams as the veteran forward that steadies the second unit is dealing is a bad sprain in his ankle. Another leader in the second unit for the OKC Thunder, Mike Muscala, will miss his second straight game as he also nurses an ankle injury.
Darius Bazley was listed as questionable with an elbow injury, will play and start tonight per the Thunder head coach. Gabriel Deck and Vit Krejci were both recalled from the OKC Blue and available tonight for the OKC Thunder if they need the extra help in a pinch due to their lack of depth in this tilt.
