Lu Dort is OUT vs Pelicans, day-to-day with ankle injury
By Rylan Stiles
The Oklahoma City Thunder take on the New Orleans Pelicans tonight in the Paycom Center. As fans fill into the arena in downtown Oklahoma City, they will be looking for the OKC Thunder to snap a two-game losing streak, turning in a 2-8 record in the last ten games. On the home hardwood, the Thunder are 4-9. Tonight, they will do battle without Lu Dort.
The Oklahoma City Thunder have not played since Sunday, in a blowout loss to the Dallas Mavericks, the organization saw their defensive star Lu Dort exit the game early with an ankle injury. The OKC Thunder took Monday off, before returning to practice on Tuesday to prepare for Wednesday’s clash with the New Orleans Pelicans. The Arizona State Product did not practice with the team on Tuesday, being out of commish due to the ankle injury sustained against the Mavericks.
OKC Thunder list Lu Dort as out against the New Orleans Pelicans
Mark Daigneault told the media Tuesday was a very intensive in-season practice, and Lu Dort did not give it a go and would be listed as Day-to-Day within the organization walls. At the time, the Oklahoma City Thunder bench boss did not rule out the possibility of Lu Dort suiting up Wednesday. However, as the OKC Thunder submitted their first injury report for this title with the Pelicans, Lu Dort’s name appeared and he was tabbed as out with a left ankle sprain.
Joining Lu Dort on the team’s injury report is a trio of G-League assignment players Aleksej Pokusevski, Isaiah Roby, and Theo Maledon. Expect all three to be recalled this afternoon following the OKC Blue’s tilt with the Stockton Kings, allowing the group to rejoin their NBA teammates for tonight’s contest. Within a formal call-up, they would not be allowed on the NBA bench per league rules.
The New Orleans Pelicans list Jose Alvarado, Daulton Hommes, Kira Lewis Jr, Didi Louzada, and Zion Williamson as out tonight in Bricktown.
