OKC Thunder seek to settle the score versus Grizzlies
Key matchup:
It’s Canada night in Memphis with SGA and Lu Dort facing another Canadian duo. Brandon Clarke hasn’t played in nine matches and was ruled out for his 10th consecutive match this evening.
However, it’s fellow canuck Dillion Brooks who should be on the radar of Mark Daigneault and draw his chalkboard game plan.
Brooks is coming off a career-best 37 point effort but got no support from his teammates in the 100-105 loss to the Blazers. He shot 12 of 25 on the night hitting four of his 10 triples and got to the line for nine free throws making them all.
While he might not draw the main assignment from most teams and Desmond Bane or Jaren Jackson typically garner more attention Brooks has been on a roll scoring 20 or more points in five straight games.
He’s also tenacious (and a bit chippy) on the defensive end having no problem applying equal energy to both sides of the court.
The guard is equally adept at bulldozing his way to the basket as he is pulling up for 3-pointer and plays with a tenacity that recalls the old school days of tough guards. He’s averaging 19.7 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.2 steals, and 1.8 long balls per game.
