Thunder rolls, take down the Denver Nuggets 108-94
By Rylan Stiles
The OKC Thunder have been playing their best basketball recently, especially after downing the Memphis Grizzlies who had previously beat the Thunder by 73 points. The Oklahoma City Thunder welcomed the Denver Nuggets to downtown Oklahoma City, the Paycom Center as the Thunder continued to roll.
The young, scrappy, and hungry Thunder have struggled in the early stages of games this season. Tonight, was a different story in what was likely their most complete game of the 2021-22 campaign thus far.
The OKC Thunder down the Denver Nuggets 108-94, as they held the league’s reigning MVP in check, Nikola Jokic posted 13 points, dished three assists, and seven rebounds during his 24 minutes of action. Like the rest of his Nuggets regulars, they just looked disinterested tonight, after spending the past three days in Bricktown as a team.

The Oklahoma City Thunder were led by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander who notched a triple-double, the second of his career, to the tune of 27 points, 11 rebounds, and 12 assists. SGA continued to struggle from beyond the arc, going 0-for-7 but still shot an effective 41-percent from the floor.
The OKC Thunder saw five other players chip in double-figures including Darius Bazley off the bench for the boys in the blue, Bazleey poured in 17 points while turning in a 63-field goal percentage and pulling down 11 rebounds, while swatting two shots.
Rookies Josh Giddey and Jeremiah Robinson-Earl each logged 14 points, while Lu Dort blitzed in four triples on his way to 15 points. Derrick Favors, who started in place of Bazley, posted ten points on eight shot attempts, six rebounds, and two assists with a steal.
The Oklahoma City Thunder saw their lead swell to 23 points during this game, largely due to their great second frame where the team shot 64-percent from the floor, moving their first-half-mark to 55-percent shooting.
The OKC Thunder had more fastbreak points, second-chance points, and points in the paint than the Denver Nuggets while outrebounding the Nuggets, and staying even in the turnover battle with 11 giveaways a piece.
