The OKC Thunder are finally starting to turn the corner on the other side of their first, and hopefully last, COVID-19 outbreak of the NBA season. As it stands right now, the Oklahoma Thunder Thunder organization is still riding the COVID-19 roller coaster while missing their head coach Mark Daigneault, top assistant Dave Bliss, and Isaiah Roby to the NBA Health and Safety Protocols.

The Oklahoma City Thunder have seen a ton of players cycle through the league’s health and safety protocols from Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Josh Giddey, Darius Bazley, Tre Mann, Jeremiah Robinson-Earl, Aaron Wiggins, Aleksej Pokusevski, Derrick Favors, to the most recent entry Isaiah Roby.

The OKC Thunder only have one player still in the NBA’s health and Safety Protocols

The Oklahoma City Thunder now sit with a decently healthy roster, especially when you consider the rest of the National Basketball Association. As I wake up and sip my morning cup of coffee I check the Injury Reports for the first time that morning and see some teaming with multiple pages worth of players out. This season more than ever, it is important to get those league-given reports every half hour to an hour to ensure nothing is missed.

While signing replacement players, playing games short-handed, the league just has to get through this year at whatever the cost. The OKC Thunder combated their first COVID outbreak by signing Scotty Hopson, Rob Edwards, Jaylen Hoard, and Olivier Sarr. Now, only one player, Isaiah Roby, remains in health and safety protocols. Sadly for Roby, he was getting more action than ever

Lu Dort (knee soreness), Derrick Favors (back), and Vit Krejci  (G-League Assignment, right ankle sprain) are all out for Wednesday’s contest against the Wolves, with Friday’s tilt against Minnesota up in the air for the trio.

Now, we all just sit back and wait. Will there be any more players entering protocols after Roby’s entry? Was this just an inconclusive or false-positive test that has happened twice with OKC Thunder players? When will Mark Daigneault return? These are all questions that can only be answered with time.
