Josh Giddey is special. At this point, there is no denying it. He has seen his name be in the same sentence as LeBron James, Russell Westbrook, Oscar Robertson, and countless other legends through just 53 career NBA games. In the last game ahead of the NBA All-Star break, in which Giddey heads to Cleveland to participate in the NBA Rising stars challenge and the NBA Skills Competition, the 19-year-old guard registered another triple-double, the fourth of his career and third straight triple-double logging ones against the Bulls, Knicks, and now Spurs.

Against San Antonio, Giddey posted 17 points, ten rebounds, and ten assists in 31 minutes of action before hopping on a private jet and flying to Cleveland to display his skills in front of a national NBA audience for the first time all year.

The OKC Thunder fell to the Spurs 114-106 on Wednesday in downtown Oklahoma City as the teams played their final game before the week-long NBA All-Star Break. Keldon Johnson, Doug McDermott, DeJounte Murray, Lonnie Walker IV, Devin Vassell, and Jakob Poeltl all chipped in 15. or more points in this contest to help lift the Spurs offense.

The Oklahoma City Thunder saw Tre Mann dominate this game offensively with 24 points on 50-percent shooting, three assists, and six rebounds. On top of Giddey’s 17 point triple-double, Isaiah Roby dominated this game down low for 17 points, Theo Maledon added 22 points, and even Aleksej Pokusevski cracked double-digits with ten points.

Josh Giddey has elevated his game, even as a rookie, and looks like a number one option moving forward. Seeing how Sam Presti builds around Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Giddey will be incredibly exciting for OKC Thunder fans moving forward.
