The OKC Blue is off to a fantastic start in their NBA G-Leauge season, making the NBA G-Leauge Winter Showcase Championship before falling to the Blue Coasts and currently sit 11-10 in the regular season at the turn of the calendar year. The Oklahoma City Blue is just three and a half games out of the top spot in the Western Conference though only half a game up on the Austin Spurs for the final NBA G-Leauge playoff spot. This Blue team is better than their record shows, with many dominating wins on their resume.

As the OKC Blue have battled adversity but Grant Gibbs’ squad is getting on the same page after a ton of roster turnover throughout the season seeing Aleksej Pokusevski, Isaiah Roby, Theo Maledon, Ty Jerome, Aaron Wiggins, Jeremiah Robinson-Earl, and Lindy Waters III all bounce between the G-Leauge and NBA squad the team is now settling into a more consistent roster.

OKC Blue acquired a pair of NBA Draft Darlings in Jahmi’us Ramsey and Robert Woodard II for the stretch of the G-League season

The Oklahoma City Blue now has nine players with NBA experience after making a trade for two former NBA Draft darlings in Texas Tech product Jahmi’us Ramsey and Mississippi State product Robert Woodard II.

Finally, D.J. Wilson gets some full-time help! Joking aside, Wilson is dominating the NBA G-League circuit going for 18-points, ten rebounds, three assists, a steal, and a block per game on 53-percent shooting from the floor. Now, he is flanked by a pair of high-potential wings.

During the 2020 NBA Draft cycle, which felt like it lasted years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Ramsey and Woodard were two of the most hyped prospects by the NBA Draft media. After they both landed in Sacramento, it was easy to see why they flamed out so quickly.

Robert Woodard II is 22 years old, while Ramsey is still just 20, they have played a combined 57 NBA games. Woodard averages one point, one rebound, and 0.2 assists in his career while Ramsey posts three points, a rebound, and half an assist in the NBA.

For Ramsey, the path back to the league will include improved three-point shooting, going for 27-percent from deep for his career. In eight G-Leauge games this season, Ramsey is averaging 19-points, four rebounds, and three assists per game on 50-percent shooting from distance (five attempts per game).

If any team is going to utilize their NBA G-Leauge squad and potentially pull one of these two fallen NBA Draft stars back to the NBA it will be the Oklahoma City Thunder. The hope for each player, but especially Ramsey, remains incredibly high to carve out an NBA career. In the moves, the OKC Blue lost Melvin Frazier and the Player Rights to Chasson Randle who snuck into a few NBA Training Camps with the organization.
