The Oklahoma City Thunder are in the midst of preparing for the 2022 NBA Draft, and as they put their finishing touches on those preparations, the NBA has made top prospects available to those of us in the media. Monday, brought a slew of interviews that included Jaden Ivey, Chet Holmgren, Jalen Duren, Johnny Davis, AJ Griffin, Tari Eason, and Mark Williams.

The OKC Thunder are one of the organizations that keep their workout list under wraps, however, through agents, players’ social media, and other sources workouts get leaked and we have compiled a full list of known OKC workouts here at Thunderous Intentions. Another way to get this information is through this interview process with these 2022 NBA Draft prospects.

Jaden Ivey talks OKC Thunder, Johnny Davis confirms workout, Chet Holmgren keeps secrets, and more in our Media interview notebook

Jaden Ivey informed those of us in the media that he only held in-market workouts with the Magic and the Pistons. Ivey, when asked about the Oklahoma City Thunder who are rumored to be big fans of the Purdue guard, explained that the Thunder flew to L.A. to watch him work out after his pro day. This is not uncommon, last year Josh Giddey did not have an in-market workout with OKC, instead, the team flew to Vegas to see him days before the draft.

Ivey said the Thunder are a team he has studied film on and likes his possible fit in Bricktown as well as his fit with the Pistons.

As I reported a few weeks ago, Johnny Davis confirmed he worked out for the Oklahoma City Thunder as the Wisconsin guard explained he did hold a workout with the Thunder in Miami where he has spent the pre-draft process. Davis went on to say OKC would be a “great fit” for him.

Duke wing AJ Griffin confirmed he talked to Oklahoma City at the combine and a little more throughout this process as he is a very interesting target that could fall within the range of the 12th overall pick.

LSU forward Tari Eason also confirmed he had a workout with Oklahoma City, and he said the Thunder put him through 2-on-2 drills and were just pushing competition during their pre-draft workout. Eason has worked out for Oklahoma City, Cleveland, Memphis, Chicago, New York, San Antonio, Houston, Atlanta, Minnesota, and Charlotte.

Jalen Duren and Chet Holmgren, two of the top big men in the class, both elected not to share which teams they worked out for or talked with during this pre-draft process. That is not an uncommon strategy it has typically been the norm. This year, the prospects have been more open than in years past.

Next. What to expect from the OKC Thunder with the 2nd overall pick. dark
