The Oklahoma City Thunder are in line for a silent offseason as far as Free Agency goes. After selecting Chet Holmgren with the second overall pick, trading back into the Lottery for the 11th pick in Ousmane Dieng, keeping pick 12 and spending it on Jalen Williams, and wrapping up their draft class with Jaylin Williams at pick 34, it seems as though the offseason fireworks were over. Thunder General Manager Sam Presti inked Lu Dort to a massive contract extension and re-signed Mike Muscala to a veteran minimum once free agency opened. Now, the team has filled their final two-way slot with Eugene Omoruyi.

The OKC Thunder utilize their two-way slots more than most organizations around the NBA. The Oklahoma City Thunder have a long list of players in recent vintages that they have converted from a two-way pact to a standard NBA deal. Of course, the biggest success story is Lu Dort who just signed a deal worth over 80 million dollars after starting his career in Bricktown on a two-way pact.

The Oklahoma City Thunder sign Eugene Omoruyi to a two-way deal, officially occupying both two-way slots ahead of NBA Summer League and the 2022-23 NBA season

The OKC Thunder signed Oklahoma State product, and Norman, Oklahoma native Lindy Waters III to a two-year two-way contract last season locking him into one of two slots allowed by the NBA. Today, the Oklahoma City Thunder signed Eugene Omoruyi to the second and final two-way slot ahead of NBA Summer League.

Eugene Omoruyi has played in four NBA games after being on a two-way pact last season with the Dallas Mavericks. The 25-year-old spent most of his season in the G-League with the Mavericks affiliate the Texas Legends. Omoruyi played just eight games in the G-league last season (due to injury) averaging 15 points, three assists, and six rebounds, on 32 percent shooting from distance and 44 percent from the floor.

Omoruyi played three years at Rutgers University before transferring to Oregon to play his final college season with the Ducks. As a Senior, he earned 2020-21 All-Pac-12 honors while averaging 17-points, five rebounds, two assists, and a steal per contest.

Eugene Omoruyi should have a chance to compete during NBA Summer League as the OKC Thunder will participate in the Salt Lake City circuit starting July 5th before heading to Vegas to participate in the Full NBA Summer League.
