The 2022-23 NBA Regular season is right around the corner. We sit three weeks away from media day and training camp, with preseason games for the OKC Thunder getting underway on October 3rd before the October 19th regular season tip-off.

This will still be a very exciting season for the Oklahoma City Thunder despite the disastrous news from last month where the team found out that second overall pick Chet Holmgren would miss the entire 2022-23 season due to a foot injury. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is primed for an All-Star caliber year, Josh Giddey is looking to take a leap in year two, Lu Dort and Kenrich Williams are paid, and even without Holmgren the Thunder still have three rookies taking the floor this year, two of which were lottery picks.

The OKC Thunder will likely struggle to compile wins this season, young teams typically can not close games out, they are missing one of their top three players for the entire year, and the Western Conference is incredible. Though, when you break down this schedule, the Thunder’s longest home stand comes at the perfect time.

December features the longest home stand of the 2022-23 NBA season for the OKC Thunder, and it comes at the perfect time

The longest OKC Thunder will host a seven-game home stand from December 14th through the 27th, which is part of eight home games in a nine-game stretch as the team returns home for their traditional New Year’s Eve against the 76ers.

During this December stretch, families around Bricktown can capitalize on their Holiday break by heading to the Paycom Center to watch some elite-level teams come in and face off with the OKC Thunder. The team will welcome in the Miami Heat, Minnesota Timberwolves, Memphis Grizzlies, Portland Trailblazers twice, New Orleans Pelicans, and San Antonio Spurs.

Seeing the new-look Timberwolves, the Eastern Conference runner-ups, Ja Morant and the Grizzlies, a star in Damian Lillard with the Trailblazers, and the upstart Pelicans that feature Zion Williamson, Brandon Ingram, and CJ McCollum along with the Spurs which should allow the Thunder to grab a win.
