With the 2022-23 NBA season tipping off on Tuesday, and the Oklahoma City Thunder getting their campaign underway on Wednesday in Minnesota, what are the top three storylines to watch for this upcoming season with the OKC Thunder?

OKC Thunder will enter this season with plenty of questions as players begin to compete for minutes

The OKC Thunder’s 2022-23 NBA campaign begins this week and there is an air of excitement around the team’s rookies. Oklahoma City will be without its blue-chip prospect in Chet Holmgren but Jalen Williams, Ousmane Dieng and Jaylin Williams will feature heavily in the rotation at some point this season. There will be plenty of minutes available for players to make their mark.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Josh Giddey, and Chet Holmgren are the core of this team, so now it’s up to Sam Presti to assemble a team around them. With Holmgren red-shirting his first season after suffering a foot injury that will hold him out for the entire 2022-23 season in a pro-am event in Seattle, the Thunder will likely end up near the top of the lottery in 2023.

At some point, Oklahoma City will need to consolidate the roster and this season is another step toward who will and who will not be within this organization in the future. This is especially important for some who’ve been in the Oklahoma City Thunder system for multiple years.

With this in mind, let’s take a look at some storylines OKC Thunder fans should keep an eye on throughout the 2022-23 Oklahoma City Thunder regular season campaign.
