Grading Thunder players in overtime win over Dallas
Isaiah Joe was by far the best reserve tonight for the Oklahoma City Thunder
Isaiah Joe played just seven minutes of basketball with the Thunder before this game. Joe was subbed in late in the fourth quarter and immediately made a huge impact. Joe hit the game-tying three that sent the game to overtime, where he hit another two big threes. In just nine minutes of basketball tonight, Joe scored 15 points, and shot a perfect 4-for-4 from the field and 3-for-3 from three, not to mention his plus/minus of +24. Joe will likely see an increase in minutes and deservingly so. Outside of Joe, the Thunder shot an abysmal 9 percent from three. With the shooting woes continuing for OKC, Daigneault may rely on Joe to space the floor.
The best player for the Dallas Mavericks in the overtime loss.
Although Luka Doncic didn’t play fantastic for the Mavericks, he still put up video game stats, scoring 31 points, grabbing 16 rebounds, and dishing out 10 assists. However, Doncic only shot 8-of-23 from the field and 0-for-6 from three-point land. Doncic does do a great job of getting the refs to blow their whistles and attempted 19 free throws in this game. Although he wasn’t the best player on the floor tonight for the Thunder, there is no denying his generational level skillset.
This Thunder team is full of hungry young players. While SGA continues to shine, the core will get better alongside him. Games like this make the future very exciting. Something is rumbling in OKC and it’s this red-hot Thunder squad.
