Three OKC Thunder things to be thankful for this Thanksgiving

The Oklahoma City Thunder used the second overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft on Chet Holmgren, and now OKC Thunder fans take the pressure off this season knowing Holmgren’s return awaits
The Oklahoma City Thunder saw their second overall pick, Chet Holmgren go down with a season-ending foot injury back in August at a Seattle Pro-Am event. Despite missing their second-best player on the roster, the OKC Thunder have been a spunky young team this season that has remained competitive.
Chet Holmgren’s injury is a large reason why this year feels different. No one is conflicted on wins or losses, having an internal battle on which one is better for the long-term future because even if a win here or there ticks the percentage points of the ping pong balls falling in the favor of OKC to get Victor Wembanyama or Scoot Henderson in Bricktown, the Thunder are adding a blue-chip talent next year no matter what.
With the strides the young core has already made, getting praised by two of the best of all time in LeBron James and Kevin Durant, for the way they are building this team they still have another star with a mountain of future draft picks to help them along.
All these ties into giving thanks to the Oklahoma City Thunder front office and ownership for allowing this rebuild to play out no matter how hyperbolic the National Media has been throughout this process.
Sam Presti is one of the best decision-makers in the sport, and he leads the way for an OKC Thunder franchise that is heading in the right direction to bring exciting competitive basketball back to Bricktown.
Happy Thanksgiving, we are all thankful for OKC Thunder fans!
