The Oklahoma City Thunder wrap up their Christmas Holiday with a 14-19 record, as many teams around this time of year begin to evaluate where they sit in the NBA landscape the Thunder are two games out of an NBA Play-In tournament spot with an easy schedule remaining, and a superstar in the making in Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

However, given how jumbled the standings are, the Thunder are also two games back of the fifth-worst record in the NBA and have a 39.9 percent chance at a top-four pick in the loaded 2023 NBA Draft.

Still, the story of this season no matter how it ends record-wise is the rise of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander into the national spotlight and taking yet another leap in every category.

This week, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was nominated for the award, before Luka Doncic was given the honor. SGA had another fantastic week.

In the three games Shai Gilgeous-Alexander played this past week, he went 2-1, hitting a game-winner against Portland in a 35-point effort, and posting a career-high 44 points in an overtime loss to the New Orleans Pelicans.

Luka Doncic went 3-1, averaging 31.5 points, nine assists, and eight rebounds per game including a massive Christmas Day win over LeBron James and the L.A. Lakers.

While he did not win, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was nominated for the first Western Conference Player of the Month award earlier this month and is in line to get at least a nomination for December as well next week.
