Game Tonight: OKC Thunder vs Spurs Odds, Injury Report, Predictions, for December 27th
There are only a few more days until the New Year and a few games remaining in 2022 for the OKC Thunder.
Week 11 starts with the Spurs in town and a great opportunity for the Thunder to garner a victory and move up the ladder.
OKC has the rest advantage having been off since Friday while the Spurs are completing a back-to-back set having begun their week with a victory versus the Jazz on Monday.
OKC sits in 12th a game up on the Lakers and 1.5 games back of the 11th-place Wolves and 10th-place Warriors.
Yup fans — we’ve reached a point in the season where this young squad is playing so well we have to consider the possibility that they could vie for a play-in seed.
Speaking of playing well, make sure to get in your daily All-Star votes to send our cornerstone talent Shai Gilgeous-Alexander to Utah.
With that let’s dive into the odds, injuries, and game details.

Injury Report
As of the 6:30 AM update to the official NBA injury report the OKC Thunder list
Jeremiah Robinson-Earl (ankle), Ousmane Dieng (fractured wrist), and Chet Holmgren (foot) as out.
Eugene Omoruyi, Jaylin Williams, and Lindy Waters III are on G League assignment
Since the Spurs played on Monday they haven’t provided an updated injury report however if it’s the same as yesterday then the only player out will be Dominick Barlow on G League assignment.
Of course, there’s always the potential Gregg Popovich will rest some players given the back-to-back.
OKC Thunder vs. Spurs key matchup and prediction
Since the franchise inception, the Thunder has always fared well against the Spurs other than the outlier 2014 season when San Antonio swept that season series.
OKC won or tied every other season except 2020-21 when the Spurs won 2-1. Even last season before San Antonio had committed to tanking the Thunder won the season series 3-1.
The Thunder won the initial November 11th meeting 119-111.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had an impressive week posting a career-high 44 points versus the Pelicans although the Thunder weren’t able to also net the win. He was equally impressive in the two matches versus the Blazers nailing another clutch time game-winner on Monday and calmly hitting free throws to seal the victory on Wednesday.
With the Spurs in the early portion of their rebuild mode, they’ve yet to find SGA’s equivalent which can make guarding them a little tricky because anyone could get hot on any given night.
The main players likely to step up are Keldon Johnson who is the Spurs’ only 20-point scorer (20.9) or Devin Vassell (19.6).
While the parity pack is still huddled en masse, the bottom of the ladder is also bunching up with the majority of the tankers shifting objectives of late.
Orlando is winning more than losing while the Rockets just pummeled the Bulls last night. The Hornets have LaMelo Ball back and subsequently are more invested in winning taking two of the last three matches.
Even the Pistons tried to shock the Clippers last night but since they never try to win Dwane Casey can’t suddenly expect his team to flip a switch and go into clutch-time mode.
As for the Spurs, they’ve won five of nine but arrive on tired legs having competed Monday and traveled.
Fortunately, Mark Daigneault doesn’t need to teach his team about flicking the switch. That’s because the OKC Thunder not only have a bonafide clutch time killer in Gilgeous-Alexander they’ve got plenty of experience being in those situations with 23 clutch time decisions this season (tied with the Heat for the most in the NBA).
Not that it should matter because the scrappy OKC Thunder look good to win. San Antonio allows opponents to score the most points and to shoot the highest percentages from the field and perimeter so I also like them to cover the spread.
What channel is the Thunder-Spurs game on?
