The Oklahoma City Thunder have seen their max contract point guard, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, turn into an absolute superstar this season. The OKC Thunder are sitting at 15-21, and their prized point guard is averaging 30 points on the season.

Last month, the NBA honored Shai Gilgeous-Alexander as a Western Conference Player of the Month Nominee for the combined months of October and November, and he has only gotten better since then.

Oklahoma City Thunder star point guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has once again been named a Western Conference Player of the Month nominee, going two for two so far this season as he averages 30 points overall

What a season it has been for the Kentucky product. 30 points, four rebounds, and five assists on 50 percent from the floor, 35 percent from three-point range, and a jaw-dropping 90 percent from the free throw line where he gets to the line at a ten-attempt clip.

Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks won the Western Conference Player of the Month honor, with Joel Embiid winning the Eastern Conference honor. Doncic averaged 35 points, nine assists, and nine rebounds per game to edge out Shai Gilgeous-Alexander who posted 30 points, five rebounds, and four assists per game while shooting 48 percent from the floor and 38 percent from three.

This is the second month Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has been nominated for this honor this season alone, with eyes on making it three-for-three beginning tonight against the Boston Celtics. This is yet another sign of the NBA world respecting Gilgeous-Alexander as a rising star in the league.

The guard should be considered a lock to make his first NBA All-Star game this winter in Salt Lake City, and at his current pace is playing like an All-NBA player that could land on one of the three All-NBA teams.

This month, the OKC Thunder play 14 games, starting with a home/road back-to-back tonight at home against Boston and tomorrow on the road in Orlando against the surging Magic.
