Game Tonight: OKC Thunder vs Heat odds, game details, predictions, for January 10th
The OKC Thunder hits the road this week with four stops on the East Coast. First up is the Miami Heat. These clubs waged battle in a very competitive effort in mid-December with the Heat coming away with the two-point victory.
It’s also a pretty exciting night for the OKC Thunder because the game will be featured on TNT. Makes you wonder if Charles Barkley pushed for it given how he’s championed Shai Gilgeous-Alexander to be the starting point guard in the All-Star Game.
Either way, this will be an opportunity for SGA and the youngsters to show the national audience just how good they are and to gain some exposure from fans who wouldn’t typically watch them.
With that let’s dive into the odds, injuries, and game details.

Injury Report
From the most recent official NBA injury report update:
Aleksej Pokusevsk (left tibial plateau – non-displaced fracture), Jeremiah Robinson-Earl (ankle), and Ousmane Dieng (fractured wrist) are all out.
Chet Holmgren (foot – Lisfranc fracture) is shut down for the season.
As for the Heat, it’s an extensive list that grew over the course of the day. The big names landing on it are Bam Adebayo (right wrist contusion) and Tyler Herro (left Achilles soreness). BOTH are out on Tuesday.
Three others also out on Tuesday are Kyle Lowry (knee discomfort), Nikola Jovic (back), and Caleb Martin (quadricep strain).
Gabe Vincent (knee effusion) and Dewayne Dedmon (plantar fasciitis) are probable while Udonis Haslem (Achilles) is questionable.
Finally, Duncan Robinson (finger) and Omer Yurtseven (ankle) both underwent surgery for their injuries and are out indefinitely.
OKC Thunder vs. Heat prediction
In the initial meeting between the clubs this season it was a highly competitive affair with the Heat edging out the OKC Thunder by two points (110-108).
And while Jimmy Butler didn’t play in that contest all the other core players participated including Bam Adebayo, Tyler Herro, and Victor Oladipo.
Tonight’s match while on the Heat home court in truth likely should favor the OKC Thunder. Prior to the injury report that cited Adebayo and Herro as out the spread favored the Heat by five points.
Frankly, I’m surprised the spread didn’t shift more since Lowry and Martin are part of the Heat core.
In essence, the load will fall on Butler, Dipo, and Max Strus tonight and I love the OKC Thunder chances against that group.
One of Jimmy or Victor will have to guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander which means they’ll be less energetic (effective?) offensively.
So Thunder Nation, enjoy watching the game on TNT, soak up any accolade the NBA TNT panel offers about SGA and the Thunder (sadly it looks like Inside the NBA chose this week to return to Thursday night programming).
And, most importantly take those 2.5 points and pick the Thunder to win this match!
What channel is the Thunder-Heat game on?
This match will be featured on TNT which is sort of a big deal for the club given how rare these nationally televised games are for a rebuilding team. Tip-Off is set for 7:30 p.m. EST (6:30 CT) from the FTX Arena, in Miami, Florida.
