The Oklahoma City Thunder should find NBA minutes for Ousmane Dieng

While you can make a case for keeping him with the NBA G-League squad, the OKC Thunder should consider bouncing him between the two with more minutes spent with Mark Daigneault’s squad in the near future.

The Oklahoma City Thunder bench boss has bounced every player on the roster in and out of the OKC rotation and it is time to add Ousmane Dieng to that mixture.

If you believe the writing is on the wall for Darius Bazley, who might get shipped as soon as the trade deadline, those are a chunk of sporadic minutes that can go to Dieng.

In the near future, given the injuries to Jeremiah Robinson-Earl and Aleksej Pokusevski, and the inconsistent workload for Aaron Wiggins, there is a clear path to test out Dieng at the varsity level.

Especially if the Thunder do not assign Dieng to the G-League by tomorrow’s noon tipoff there would be very little reason to not insert the 19-year-old wing into the NBA rotation that night against the Hawks after missing two chances to play for the OKC Blue right here in the state of Oklahoma.
