NBA Draft: Top 3 teams to watch during March Madness
By Rylan Stiles
The Kansas Jayhawks and Duke Blue Devils are worth following throughout March Madness.
Who (Kansas): Gradey Dick, Jalen Wilson, K.J. Adams, and Kevin McCullar
Who (Duke): Dariq Whitehead, Kyle Flilipowski, Dereck Lively, Tyrese Proctor, and Mark Mitchell
When (Kansas): The Jayhawks will start their March Madness run on Thursday at 1 p.m. against Howard.
When (Duke): The Blue Devils will begin their March Madness run on Thursday at 6:10 p.m.
Gradey Dick is a top-ten talent in this draft, and when NBA fans watch him, I think they will be surprised at how much he impacts the game beyond just his sweet shooting stroke.
Jalen Wilson is a nice bucket-getter at the College ranks and might be worth a flyer in the second-round pick.
My hottest NBA Draft take is K.J. Adams should be selected in June. He has the physical tools, rebounding, passing ability, and defensive upside that is worth a chance. For Adams, a team that heavily uses their NBA G-League squad could see him blossom for their organization.
Dariq Whitehead was once a top-ten or even five prospect in this draft for some people, but early-season injuries pushed him down the ladder. However, his tools and talent being displayed for this Blue Blood program in March Madness could allow him to skyrocket yet again.
Kyle Flilipowski and Dereck Lively are safe with their first-round status, but it is always good to watch them play in full games this time of year.
Tyrese Proctor might be the most interesting player to watch between these two schools. Much like Hawkins, Proctor has high-rising potential up NBA Draft boards if he has a strong month. Off the catch-and-shoot, Proctor converts at a 38 percent clip and strokes it at a 45 percent clip coming off screens.
Proctor also offers high-level Pick-and-Roll navigation and is a plus perimeter defender.
I realize I gave you four teams, but I make the rules. Enjoy March Madness!
