The 2023NBA Draft is right around the corner, and the OKC Thunder owns the 12th, 37th, and 50th overall pick on June 22nd.  The second round is one of the most interesting aspects of the NBA Draft. It has been a round where Sam Presti has found a ton of value. Jeremiah Robinson-Earl, Aaron Wiggins, Jaylin Williams, and Isaiah Joe (drafted by the 76ers) were all second-round products on this roster alone. Lu Dort and Kenrich Williams (initially signed by the Pelicans) fell through the cracks of their respective drafts.

The Oklahoma City Thunder are preparing for the NBA Draft. Let’s review some of their top options in the second round. Given OKC’s pick positions, it is hard to pinpoint exactly who will be on the board at each selection. Everyone has a different view, grade, and rank position on a player, and we all know each year provides tremendous draft day surprises. If one of your favorite second-round talents is missing from this list, I promise we will get to them throughout the next month on the website.

3 Options for the OKC Thunder at pick 37 in the 2023 NBA Draft.

The second round is an interesting case study, especially at pick 37. Do you select a player with a low ceiling but a more accessible pathway to contribute at the NBA level? Or do you go for the boom-or-bust selection that might end up with no return on investment?

With the Oklahoma City Thunder so good at developing talent, especially with their investment in the NBA G-League, taking shots on high-ceiling players might be the way to go for the organization.
