Why He Makes the Roster:

The OKC Thunder have a very young roster with only two players over thirty, with Oladipo being one of them. With fans’ high expectations for the OKC Thunder this season, having that veteran leadership on the team would be very important.

He has played in thirty-three playoff games throughout his career, having made the Eastern Conference Finals with the Miami Heat in 2022. He has averaged fourteen points, four rebounds, and three assists per game, shooting thirty-nine percent from the field, thirty-three percent from three, and seventy-nine percent from the free-throw line.

He has been the primary option during the playoffs while with the Indiana Pacers and has been a secondary role player when he was with the Heat. He hasn’t been the same since both of his injuries, but when he was healthy with the Heat during the 2022 playoffs, he played his best in a secondary role.

The OKC Thunder will need someone to come off the bench and provide an offensive spark when Josh Giddey, Jalen Williams, or Shai Gilgeous-Alexander are on the bench. If Oladipo can be the same player he was in the 2022 playoffs with the Heat, then he would be exactly what this Thunder team needs.
