The Oklahoma City Thunder are beginning a new era of basketball in Bricktown. The 2023-24 season can not come soon enough, as the Thunder seem poised for a successful run. With one of the best young cores in the NBA, a superstar guard, and a top-notch head coach, things are lining up beautifully for the Thunder.

Amid their rebuilding, the OKC Thunder saw two straight years without a single Nationally Televised game. It would have been a third this past season, but their youthful energy and surprising production forced the NBA’s hand to put the Bricktown boys back in front of a National Audience. Now, a return to relevancy is intimate for the squad.

TheNBA announced the schedule today for all 30 teams, and while mathematically speaking, the teams have balanced schedules, when and where these games are played on the calendar can directly lead to wins and losses.

Two games are missing on every schedule, and each team that fails to make it to the knockout stage of the In-Season Tournament will make up those games on December 6th and 8th.

The Oklahoma City Thunder schedule is loaded with great matchups. Still, perhaps the best comes in the home opener as Chet Holmgren will make his Bricktown debut against one of, if not the, best centers in the World in reigning NBA champion Nikola Jokic.

The OKC Thunder have eight Nationally Broadcasted not including NBATV games. The Thunder will end the season on a four game home stand to make their final playoff push.

Chet Holmgren has a ton of marquee matchups including Nationally TV broadcasted games against Nikola Jokic, Zion Williamson, Paolo Banchero, and Victor Wembanyama.

Oklahoma City Thunder In-Season Tournament Schedule:

For the first time in League History, the NBA will conduct an In Season Tournament. The association has been broken up into six pools, three per conference. Every Tuesday and Friday night in November, games will count as pool play games and regular season standing games. With two wild cards, the top team in each pool will advance to the bracket stage of the chase for the first-ever NBA Cup.

  • November 3rd, 2023: vs Golden State Warriors
  • November 10th, 2023: @ Sacramento Kings
  • November 14th, 2023: Vs. San Antonio Spurs, TNT
  • November 28th, 2023: @ Minnesota Timberwolves

A return to National Television with a budding NBA rivalry that features 2023 top overall pick Victor Wembanyama against the 2nd pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, Chet Holmgren will headline their In Season Tournament schedule. Ultimately, this slate shakes out well for Oklahoma City.

Oklahoma City Thunder Pre-Season Schedule:

The Oklahoma City Thunder have one of the most interesting pre-season slates in the entire NBA. This league is unlike any other, with their exhibition games being closer to how you see regular-season tilts played than not. While the regulars will see a slight minute reduction, the stars will still log 20-ish minutes a night in the preseason.

  • October 9th, 2023: vs. San Antonio Spurs
  • October 12th, 2023: vs. Detroit Pistons (Montreal, Quebec, Canada)
  • October 15th, 2023: @ Charlotte Hornets
  • October 17th, 2023: vs. Milwaukee Bucks
  • October 19th, 2023: vs. Detroit Pistons (Tulsa, Oklahoma)

The OKC Thunder keep their exhibition match in Tulsa tradition alive and travel to swingman Lu Dort’s hometown of Montreal to give Dort and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander another stop in Canada this season. Hometown fans get an additional treat with Victor Wembanyama playing his first preseason game in Bricktown.
