Davis Bertans was one of five OKC Thunder players participating in the 2023 FIBA World Cup. His Latvia team wrapped up an incredible run that featured some upsets, massive outbursts, and a trip to the FIBA World Cup quarterfinals.

That led to Team Latvia facing off with Team Germany in a win-or-go-home matchup for the OKC Thunder forward. This game featured Davis Bertans, Dennis Schroder, Franz Wagner, Mo Wagner, Daniel Theis, and Isaac Bongo as former or current NBA players.

This was a thrilling back-and-forth game between Latvia and Germany, but eventually, Team Germany narrowly squeaked by Latvia, 81-79. Former Thunder guard Dennis Schroder finished with nine points, four assists, two steals, and a rebound. Magic star Franz Wagner put up 16 points, eight rebounds, and three assists. Franz Wagner was a +22 in the tilt to help get Germany over the hump.

The OKC Thunder faithful who woke up for this early morning matchup were treated to a three-point party from Davis Bertans. The forward finished 6-for-13 from beyond the arc, with two rebounds, a steal, and a block.


Davis Bertans was nearly able to can a three-pointer to send Latvia into the next round. Still, ultimately, the thriller ended Germany’s way to push them to the Semi-Finals of the 2023 FIBA World Cup on Friday.

The OKC Thunder forward averaged 14 points, an assist, and four rebounds per game while turning in 1.2 STOCKS per game. Davis Bertans shot 40 percent from the floor, 39 percent from beyond the arc, and 93 percent at the charity stripe.

On catch-and-shot chances, Davis Bertans was nails shooting it at a 40 percent clip to go along with 36 percent shooting on spot-up opportunities. The NBA veteran played up to his standards during the 2023 FIBA World Cup run and now turns his sights to his future NBA role after the consolidation tilt with Team Italy.
