The OKC Thunder entered the 2023-24 NBA season with raised expectations. The team won 40 games last season and earned a spot in the play-in tournament. This season, Head coach Mark Daigneault and his dynamic young squad have their eyes set on the playoffs.

Superstar guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has emerged as one of the league’s best players, and he looks geared to take another leap this season after finishing fifth in MVP voting a season ago. The OKC Thunder have their go-to guy, a young core that finally sees Chet Holmgren make his long anticipated debut, Josh Giddey coming off a fantastic FIBA World Cup run, and Jalen Williams fresh of a runner up for Rookie of the Year award finish.

The OKC Thunder could take a massive leap this season, and eventually could venture into the trade market. Who are some Central Division targets?

This OKC Thunder team is ready to win games and start gaining postseason experience. Its rotation could use a little boost, however. Adding a long-term power forward, some wing depth and some size to the bench could propel the OKC Thunder to contention status. Though, this season marks the first that the entire gang is together, eventually a move will come.

It’s a good thing the Thunder front office has more assets to deal with than any other team in the league. Today, let’s scout five teams in the Eastern Conference for potential trade targets. Here is one player the OKC Thunder should try to grab from each team in the Central Division.
