Detroit Pistons: Alec Burks

Alec Burks is one of the most under appreciated bench scorers in the NBA. He’d make a rock-solid addition to OKC’s rotation. The OKC Thunder need another wing who can create his shot. Burks can turn stagnant possessions into points by generating efficient looks off the dribble. He’s hit over 40 percent of his pull-up threes across the last four seasons.

Believe it or not, Burks is one of the most effective isolation scorers in the NBA. He generated 1.44 points per possession in isolation last season, placing him in the 99th percentile across all players. Burks has finished in the 99th percentile of isolation scorers in three of the past four seasons. The man is simply a lethal pull-up Fourshooter. He’s a constant scoring threat with the ball in his hands.

Burks is in the last year of his contract, playing for a rebuilding Detroit team with no real playoff aspirations. He’s owed just 10 million this season, and acquiring him wouldn’t cost much.

The OKC Thunder could use another veteran presence in their rotation. He would bring steadiness to the team’s bench unit. With Burks and Vasilije Micic coming off the bench in 2024, OKC would have two savvy shot-creators to trust in half-court possessions.
