The OKC Thunder held their annual Media Day on Monday before kicking off their Training Camp on Thursday. Each day this week, the media has been able to interview players and head coach Mark Daigneault. When we talked with Davis Bertans and Vasilije Micic about their roles with the OKC Thunder.

Heading into Media Day, some in the OKC Thunder fanbase were worried about how Davis Bertans and Vasilije Micic would react to their projected roles with the Thunder. Would Davis Bertans be accepting of a reduced role similar to Mike Muscala or Dario Saric last season? How would 29-year-old rookie point guard Vasilije Micic, who is a two-time EuroLeague MVP, react to coming off the bench to switch his role as he makes the jump to the NBA?

The OKC Thunder newcomers said all the right things this week to excite the fanbase.

Davis Bertans and Vasilije Micic can really help Mark Daigneault’s squad in different ways. Bertans getting hot off the bench as a three-point sniper will give a boost to the OKC Thunder.

Vasilije Micic will eventually see a more significant role than Bertans, though Micic will still come off the bench. His pick-and-roll prowess and veteran leadership can help facilitate the Thunder’s secondary unit.

With both of them onboard for the revolving door rotation fans are used to, it should excite the OKC Thunder faithful that everyone on the roster is bought in.
